We have a serious looking zebra for you today. I'm posting the photo and the drawing for anyone who wants to get an early start. I will add the painting part later this morning, or afternoon. The drawing is the hardest part - so take your time. DON'T START PAINTING UNTIL I POST THE STEPS, WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT A BIT MORE COLORFUL THAN BLACK AND WHITE.
Do your best with the stripes. If you can't get them exactly like the photo, just make up your own. Every zebra has different stripes - kind of like fingerprints.
Oops. I forgot to take a picture of the first washes. Ignore the blue stripes for now. Wet the whole zebra, and then add some yellow, and then some red, mostly around the edges, and let it blend. A little more color on the nose. LET IT DRY BEFORE YOU ADD THE BLUE STRIPES!
Now you can proceed to add the blue stripes. You can vary the darkness if you want.
I darkened some of the stripes and the nose, and added a bit more orange to the nose. I added white paint for a highlight in his eye. And some dark hairs on his mane.
I decided not to do a background, but feel free to add one to yours if you think it needs one.
